Zesty fruit pith on the nose along with yellow apple, burnt lemon peel, light nutty notes of almond, toasted aspects, and a good deal of citric underpinnings. Lots of width on the palate, barrel notes present but manage to boost the wine and give it a good deal of length. Pity about the unduly heavy bottle at 925g empty....
