Dark fruited, cherry, boysenberry, ripe fig, still closed a bit aromatically, burnt orange peel, cloves, and light wet slate notes. Wealth of tannins and structure on the palate, wine with a lot wound up in it, but just starting to open up now. Potential for a great deal more aging. Unduly heavy bottle....
