Looks like the writers for Wine Spectator just got back from Croatia as they covered it in great length yesterday over three posts: Overview, Food & Wine, and more about Croatian cuisine.

The articles provide a good overview for the uninitiated but obviously are in need of more details and one wouldn’t be able to plan a trip based solely upon these, but they are a decent base from which to dig in more. There’s also the standard Plavac Mali/Zinfandel confusion with “Winemaker Marija Bura Mrgudić and her family have partnered with AIG Chairman Robert Benmosche, and are replanting Plavac Mali” as that’s actually Crljenak Kaštelanski being planted there. Otherwise, pleasant reading.
