Massive case of fraud emerges from DO Valdepeñas

The big news story for the last couple of months in Spanish wine has revolved around the Denomination of Origin (DO) Valdepeñas. This centrally-located DO in the province of Ciudad Real is in the south of and basically surrounded by DO La Mancha but it may not jump to everyone’s minds in terms of one of Spain’s more well-known Denominations of Origin–at least internationally.
