Photo by VinologueMore than just a striking winery set in to the sloping hills, Trossos del Priorat puts out some serious wines. So much so that due to the steady hands of enologs, Eva Escudé and Toni Coca, their wines were some of our top picks for the Priorat guide.

Lo Petit is a new wine from them which offers a lower entry point. While obviously not at the level of their outstanding Lo Món or PamdeNas reds, it offers a nicely distilled take on their wines at a price that is extremely friendly to the wallet for a Priorat wine.

Lo Petit de la Casa 2010 starts out with bold red fruits aromas and elements like macerated strawberries. The body is bold with a touch of butteriness from the time spent in the oak. Dark boysenberry is intertwined with the minerality that at times drifts a bit much tannic and overly cushioned, but is immediately approachable despite the overall strength of it.
