Dominic Abernethy has been happily selling wines from his small shop, El Celler Petit in Sant Martí d’Empuriès for several years now and has been a very vocal force in promoting the strength of the wines from the Empordà region. As is often the case in life, other things such as family and new projects start to take over one’s limited time and Dominic has made the difficult decision to close the shop in the middle of October.
Thankfully, he’ll still continue with the Arrels del Vi fair which is one of the finest showcases for the wines of Empordà. If you find yourself in the Empordà area, stop in, say hi, and pick up a bottle or two before the doors close for good in a month. The shop sits on the small square at the entrance to the old stone village of Sant Martí d’Empúries, just within walking distance of the gorgeous Greek and Roman ruins of Empúries.
